About

Elissa Boyd was born in Cloverdale, BC in July 1987. Art has been her passion from childhood, when many happy hours were spent sketching ducks and cats from before she could see over her own easel. A Sidney native, she attended Parkland Secondary and grew up with a love for the natural beauty of our little town. Today, she resides in Sidney, BC, where her pursuit of learning as a University of Victoria Visual Arts student grows harmoniously with a passion for life and an insatiable appetite for travel. A nature lover, the artist can often be found on sunny days exploring Vancouver Island’s hiking trails, gathering inspiration from their symphony of colour. She finds inspiration in happy memories from travels with her boyfriend to Europe and the Middle East, and in the quiet moments of nature and West Coast life. Inspirations include local scenery and flora, loved ones, European scenes, Islamic architecture, the addicting exploration of our earth’s mountains, dance, and yoga. For the artist, her creation is a real life manifestation of love and a celebration of a beauty that can be found in the everyday. Through enjoying her work, Elissa hopes that her audience can find inside them both a realization of their own passions and creative spirit, but also a calm resting place away from distraction where one can enjoy life’s beautiful things. Elissa wishes to thank her parents, friends and loved ones for their support in her first art show.
